Here are all the details of our April release — The Game: Face to Face! You get to know everything early; we’re announcing this publicly on Wednesday, February 17 (so please keep this info private until then!).
This title is another standalone follow-up to The Game, which has been nominated for the Spiel des Jahres, Golden Geek, and Lys Grand Public awards. It is strictly designed for two-players ONLY and features some cool twists to the original gameplay.
We’re expecting this to work really well with gaming couples living together, from the feedback from initial European reviews back in 2017. Our impression is that games with 2-player variants/gameplay are being played much more than normal, so this is a great time to make this title available!
Your ultimate goal is to be the first to discard all the cards in your deck. However to pull it off, you’ll inevitably have to help your opponent.
On your turn, you’ll play at least 2 cards from your hand of 6. The twist comes from where you can play them. Of course, your own ascending and descending piles are fair game and follow the normal rules of The Game.
But exactly once per turn, you can play a card on one of your opponent’s piles, breaking all rules. This ultimately helps them out, as it pushes whatever pile you played on away from its upper limit.
